A.C. Gilbert Children’s Museum
“The Oregon Room” is the latest addition to dozens of hands-on exhibits at the Salem, Oregon children’s museum. Families can learn about the state’s food web, climb the Coast Range, walk behind a waterfall, venture through a volcanic mountain and pick apples in a miniature Willamette Valley. Build sandcastles at our beach area and peek into a simulated tide pool that holds marine-themed puppets. The newest resident is Annabelle the Incredible Milking Cow, whose lovely mooooo echoes throughout the Gilbert House exhibits. Children are invited to milk her, pet her and feed carrots to her from the fields.
