Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm – I am Oregon Agriculture

My nephew Jon and I.

I am Oregon agriculture.

My name is Barb Iverson and I farm with two of my brothers, Ken & Nels Iverson. My parents purchased our original farm in 1950, added a labor force of six kids and have now retired. A third generation has also joined us, my nephew Jon, whose lifelong dream was to come back to the farm. When he was 5, he headed off to town one day walking, as he wanted to go to the tractor store and Mom couldn’t take him.

Our tulip field and our pink John Deere tractor are huge draws at our annual Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival.

On our farm we grow wheat, grass seed, green beans, sweet corn, various seed crops, wine and table grapes as well as tulips and daffodils. Our big event is in the spring when we host the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. This last season we had visitors from all 50 states as well as 137 countries. Besides the festival, we pick over a million stems of tulips to ship to various customers.
