Rooted in Our History

The very foundation of Oregon as a State has its roots in agriculture. Oregon Trail pioneers who braved the hardships of the journey West came in search of a better life, and the fertile soils of the Willamette Valley laid the foundation for a State that still sees more than 12 percent of its economy come from the farmers and ranchers who provide the food and fiber we all enjoy.
